Awesome! How exciting. 🥳
Currently growing out offspring from my chocolate mottled project pen.
I have a black cochin boy over a chocolate and a chocolate mottled hen- Will be keeping at least one roo from them and breeding back to the mottled split sisters and the mother. (Since the roo's will...
Is the orpington boy English or American?
English orpingtons already have a similar structure to cochins, just lack feathering.
If you were to breed splits back to the hen you'd maintain the cochin look, but the chocolate would take longer to achieve.
Of the first offspring I would keep the...

I actually found chocolate cochin bantam biddies a few months ago- And I'll be able to get more eventually. (Probably will be soon.)
I only got 4 originally, 3 are still will me, almost 3 months old. (Hatched February 5th.)
1 for sure cockerel, 1 for sure pullet, 1 im not sure about yet...
Of course-
I guess I should of stated that I knew that part-
Is it recessive?
If I couldn't find a chocolate pair or so- what if i had a chocolate hen or roo- But only one, what color would the chocolate go best with to produce more chocolates?
I'm aware I may not get a chocolate, if I don't...
Wondering how you make a chocolate, especially in cochins- As I'm getting into them (they're my favorite) and wanting to breed.
Many tell me to just get that color and start a pen from someone else's bird, but I'm still wanting to know either way how you make one.
I also am a fan of mottling...
