Went on a five mile hike to a waterfall today. My son and I are trying to get hiking sticks from our local metroparks. You have to hike 10 different hikes at 6 different parks to qualify. We have until June 30 to do it so it will get done but five miles was a little zealous for 9:00am. I'm tired!
Went down to our land on Saturday and hiked it. It's raw land, no trails and all woods, some is very steep. We discovered rock outcrops! And possibly a spring but we have to investigate that further
We were hiking in WV when we bought our land last September and we came across a river. Out in the middle was a river otter! Not something you see here in northern Ohio, I was very excited to see it. I have pictures but it was too far away, you can't see it in the pictures
I love hiking. I've hiked the Grand Canyon, Red Rocks, Hocking Hills State Park(my favorite), parts of the Buckeye Trail, and lots of smaller state parks. I like the actual hiking, not the flat trails that are paved. I'm talking up cliffs or across rivers and creeks
