    Pictures would help to confirm this, but Polish x Sussex would give you a single comb from the Sussex with a partial splitting from heterozygous duplex V-comb gene from the Polish. That could be somewhat reminiscent of the OP's bird's comb. It's possible that's what you're seeing in your birds. 🙂
