Ah I am so sorry I have been so busy so forgot about this thread!
They are both now living outside comfortably! Ty Lee is definitely a rooster and Azula is a hen! I'm eagerly waiting on Azula's first egg!
Azula has been putting on weight and Ty Lee is doing great! They spent their first night outside in the coop tonight! I'm making it their home for when the weather is nice
I can't believe they are two months old now!
The sneezing has stopped! Azula has gained seven ounces already as well! I mixed 50/50 medicated chick feed to flock raiser and added a couple handfuls of dried mealworms
Nope and no unfortunately. I do think it's because she is ill and having her first moult right now. Both of those must be putting a strain on her little body. I haven't seen anything in their feces though. But I know it's not always visible
Thank you! They are free fed. She's just choosing not to eat as much. I have been giving her raw egg and fresh k*lled insects for protein after learning she's underweight. I just wanted to make sure the keel is actually a way to tell and I wasn't going to make them obese
So I was right. They have a respiratory infection. Had their second dose of Doxycycline today and haven't noticed much improvement yet. Azula is apparently underweight so I'm hand feeding her raw egg yolk and will be getting fresh k*lled feeder insects as well
Sorry long time no post! Both babies are fully vaccinated! They are doing so well! I am considering getting a third since this is going to well, but I want it to be an intake to my rescue that I decide to keep
The girls are enjoying their second day of being outside! Today it will be for the majority of the day. Also their first day eating proper chop like birds!
Azula just tidbitted! I was tapping the ground like I usually do to announce treats. Azula runs over, and starts doing that sound they make to announce food!
Yes but I am only allowed up to three small livestock currently including poultry. I don't want to rehome her but if it ends up making her life better than I will. Why don't I get another pullet? I need to keep a space open to help any birds I can as a small rescue
Oh yes! Azula loves flight training! And I'm mostly worried about them as adults. I really would love to just keep them together but if Azula is harassing Ty Lee with excessive breeding then I can't really do that. I would probably have to do rotations with them, keeping them seperate at times
