Thanks guys for all your help with Garnet! thought ide give an update on how she's doing, really didnt think she was gonna make it, but turns out shes completely better eating and laying normal again. after i gave the acidified copper sulfate and epsom salts syringed, this seemed to do it! 😊
Yes, definitely will try to get that as soon as i can. thank you. i have been giving her electrolytes that have added calcium, until i get this because im sure what im giving her is not as effective as the calcium citrate.
Thank you! at first i thought possibly that she ate long grass, got impacted crop then it led to sour crop, but i think it could be an egg stuck possibly as well. I have been giving her probiotics but will definitely look into the calcium citrate. thanks for the picture also.
Yeah, your not being negative at all, i really appreciate it. And 7 months is pretty young so sorry. i will keep researching anything for her and check out Azygous thanks a whole ton for your time. i recently gave her an epsom salts mixture syringed into the beak and she seemed to have crapped a...

I think four days ago now from what i have noticed. or five not sure if thats to long 😓 but could it be that maybe they stop laying when they get sour crop?
Im Not mis dosing her i know the ratios on what to give on the black walnut and cayenne has healed my turkeys whenever they get parasite issues. they would die without it. and i would appreciate you please read everything i say before responding, as, the food i give her is not "treats" if you...
Sorry to hear that sounds like impacted crop a bit. i hope she recovers. one rooster i had a wile back had something similar and i gave him probiotics and digestive enzymes twice a day. he seemed to get better fast. but if its similar to the issue im have with Garnet (the sick hen i explained)...
Shes only 3, and she normally eats whole grains like, cracked corn, wheat, little bit of soy beans, peas, barley, oats flaxseeds, and sunflower seeds. sometimes i give her apple cores and always free access to oyster shells and minerals. parasite remedies include a few things, like black walnut...
I really appreciate the reply! and thanks for the article. maybe a little bit of smell coming from her beak but part of it could be i'm smelling the treatment i'm giving her, i did try to give the coconut oil she ate a little bit. but i think the chances of it being sour crop are higher then...
I'm sorta new to BYC so i hope i posted this in the right area 😓
I'm worried its to late i noticed my bantam hen (Garnet) wasn't eating much at all 3 days ago and she was very easy to catch normally she's less tame than the others, so i brought her in and took a look at her. she wasn't sneezing...
