So would you also say my white peacock is not white because his eye feathers well have white eyes?
There are many, many shades of white, just like any other color'
Not trying to start a fuss here just wonder how you came to this conclusion
Here is the pearly white ...
Ok, detour real quick back to Cinnamons for a sec...
I meant to post this pic for bemba to see, way back at the start of this thread but forgot/got side tracked... oops...
Cinnamon keet in the middle (or at least what I call Cinnamon in my flocks), Pearl Grey keet on the left, Brown keet on...
oz, do your pure White keets that you guys hatch ever have a little black (grey actually) dot on the back of their head? It's common here, pretty cute too. If you don't know what I mean I can try to find a pic of one of mine that had the dot...
Aww bemba, I'd share all my perdy colors with you if I could!!! I had a blast hatching this past season, every hatch was like getting presents on Christmas or a Birthday, lol
I know, I want a few of that color so BAD, lol. I hatched 782 keets last season, at least 50 of them were pure White... I was so crossing my fingers for one of them to develop pearls!

I would love to know how you get a pearled white?... as since the pearling itself is white... it wouldnt show up
The pearl markings on the feather have a different opacity than the feather's background color does, so it really is possible to see white on white. It's kind of like...

Hi Casa, Yes they lay like mad in the warmer months...... Guinea eggs are quite small in comparson to the size of the bird, and the shells are VERY thick..... I have eaten them they are nice.
Thanks! Maybe we will try some one day. We are primarily in it for the eggs....not much on...
bemba, I'm not exactly sure what you guys consider a Sky Blue down there, but a Sky Blue over here is a blue bird with no pearling on it at all, not even bars on the wings or pearling in the flank area. I don't have any non-pearled Guineas in my breeding flocks (yet), only fully-pearled and...

Oh wow, the Creams are fully pearled birds... wasn't expecting that. They look like they are in the dark color range of a (US) Buff Dundotte (or what I consider Cinnamons in my flocks).
Thanks for the link! Now I know what a Cream looks like!

Mine shake their feathers and get all fluffed like that frequntly too... especially after a good deep dustbath. It's almost like they were primping real quick before the photoshoot and didn't get their hair all fixed in time I actually see that as a sign of a healthy bird, one that...
How bout you rollyard, do you have any Creams? If not and you don't have any pics of any to share, how about a description or comparison to the US color/variety you think they most closely resemble (of they even do)? Do they have any pearling? Do they have the red eyes? Huh huh huh ...

What are you referring to? The fluffed feathers? They shook thier feathers at the time of the photo, I have never lost an adult guinea thus far (to disease)..... thanks for your concern though

Hi bemba, Thanks for sharing pics, I love seeing everyone's Guineas, and I especially love seeing all the differences in the birds in on other continents. Do you have any of the color that you guys call Cream in Oz? Just curious what they look like and if they resemble or how closely they...
