Not silly at all - it is absolutely palpable how much you love your flock and how anxiously you were waiting for that egg..........I think it's beautiful!
Okay - I have to share this somewhere - and I think everyone else in my life is getting tired of hearing about chickens and eggs (lol) -- yesterday we got an almost perfectly round egg the size of a golf ball, and then here is today's newest layer's contribution -
Yes, that is the egg, under...
LOL - I have one that sings before, during AND after - she is definitely my complainer in the flock. I am sure the neighbors just *love* her, she managed to carry on for almost two hours today between the before, during and after singing and honk-squawking
So, it wasn't a pretty EE egg......but that's okay because it was the first full-sized egg - that's today's egg from Fat Amy next to one of her eggs from a few days ago and yesterday's first egg from my SLW which is about the size of Amy's first too
So, I sent a text home to my son (partner in chicken crime, lol) asking how the girls were today, if we had any eggs, etc -- and the little buggar texted back with, "Yes, 2 so far this morning- and one is a surprise....wait until you get home" -- that just isn't fair....I still have hours left...
for all your waiting to pay off soon. I could watch Chicken TV all day/every day - my husband tracked me down in the coop over the weekend and was like, "What are you doing - you've been out here for hours" - he has no appreciation for the wonders of chicken-tainment.
