Glad to hear it! The only difference is the edge stitching. The originals had to be stitched inside out, flipped, ironed then a line of stitching run on the outside. The new ones are just switched together with the raw edge basically wrapped in thread.
I picked up a new (to me) serger machine a week or so ago. I've been interested in getting one for a while it just hadn't happened. I think I got it figured out and have changed the design of the hen saddles that I make. Not only can I get them done faster now, but it's saving my wrist and arm...
Awesome! I started one a while ago. It needs sanded before Ican do a final coat of rain. They're really cool :) I had trouble with the resin not wanting to stick to the decal.
I finally finished up a pile of shirts for my neighbor. The last one was incredibly complicated and took about 3 days of me stalling and contemplating. It was very complicated lol. The colors are a bit brighter than they look on that last one.
Saddles stay on with elastic around the wings. Tutus.... they stay on as long as the hen lets them lol. A snug fit helps :)
Here's my instruction sheet that I send with all first time orders for saddles.
Lol, it took a lot of trial and error. I've been doing this for a few years now so I have it pretty much down now. Originally, I bought a few from someone when I needed them and from there, I looked at it and tried to figure out how to make my own. That's actually when I learned how to use the...
Just wait to Wednesday!! I was thankful to see a little layer of snow on the ground this morning. It helped me track down my rogue turkey hen's hidden nest when she came for breakfast lol
I finally finished my son's wall decal. It was the most challenging yet and had way more tiny details than I realized but here's the final project, up on his wall. It's roughly 24" x 24"
Lol! I like using my computer for planning my saddle projects and cutting them out but I did all the vinyl projects from my phone. Now that I have saddle templates saved, I use my phone for most of it. It's easier than trying to get my laptop from my DH (he's doing final projects for his college...
My daughter and I have been playing with the Cricut the past few days... messing around with vinyl. I made these two. The one on the wall is a removable vinyl decal, the one on my cup is perminant.
My daughter designed this one. It's on her wall now.
This one I'll be cutting today for my...
Thanks!
I'm loving it so far :) I have 3 saddle sizes already programmed in. I have a custom order to work on today (another chicken sweater) but I think I'm going to have this cutting out saddles for me all day while I work on other stuff. My DH did say I needed to hire a helper since the old...
I just bought myself an early Christmas present and told DH not to get me anything. Someone on here mentioned a Cricut and I've been looking in to them ever since... so I just ordered a Cricut Maker. I can't wait till it gets here to play around with it and see how much it will help with cutting...
Not yet but since things are picking up so dramatically, that's going to be something I'm going to have to look in to lol. My wrist is starting to complain when I cut!
HAHA! My "old fashioned helpers" are getting older... the youngest has to be bribed to help and the oldest, he'll flip them...
