It's not a novel. It truly happened.

One book that made me consider this story was The Lucifer Effect.

It takes place in a prison in the future. Three young employees are trying to earn a promotion. To do so, they have to watch a prisoner die of thirst, which takes 3-4 days.

I've written a murder mystery (unpublished, probably a trunk novel). I started a sequel, but it will languish, most likely. I started a dystopian novel. I started a totally unrelated novel. Of the unfinished stuff, I like the dystopian one the best.
