    Yum that sounds good! How did you fix the veggies? My son brought the two youngest grandkids over and I fixed them bacon and eggs. Later a delivery truck a showed up with my new tiller. lol

    I got my tomatoes planted a couple days ago. I use a pipe, a heavy duty cage and a wall o water. Usually I use red plastic mulch but this year I’m not bothering with it. I’ll grow some greens around the wall o waters which will be done long before the tomatoes need the space.

    We only have fencing around the chicken coop/vegetable garden area. The rest is the slug/deer area. :gig

    :thumbsup Great idea! The other thing that happened to my big rosemary was the deer breaking off big branches rubbing their antlers.

    I think they are both fairly cold hardy but don’t like wet feet. The place I have the rosemary is very sandy and well drained.

    My sage didn’t do especially well either, it’s ugly but alive! I lost one of my huge rosemary bushes that I’ve kept for over 20 years! :(

    Bill that looks wonderful. I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but you can grow your own sage from plants available. I just bought a replacement sage plant for $2 at Rite Aid.

    Yes it’s terrible and the thought “Why do I keep chickens” pops up! Then the rest are still running around happy to be alive and that’s contagious!

    Oh that sounds great! Keep us posted! I'm trying some potatoes in pots this year. I ended up with way more to plant than i have room for in the garden.

    Bending stiff wire into hoops to form a sort of cage for the row cover to rest on? I think you’re smart to try to keep them covered. In this country I don’t know if those would grow without being wormy.

    Oh that’s great PennyJo! I hope they hatch out well! We went foraging for food too. Got Easter candy for the grandkids. Dove has chocolate caramels and I’m trying to forget where I hid them. :gig
