What I have heard and read on the Cinnamon Queen (CQ) is that they are in the 320+ class of layer. I think that the Hy-line is the only breed that will out produce the CQ. I do not think that they have a short life span, just a shortened production period, because of the high production rate. I have four from last year. I am not sure that they are even producing, as I have not noticed the tell-tail signs of coming of age. They are all interesting birds and somewhat flighty. I got mine, as I am into the small farm egg production. Plus, silly as it may sound after my trips to Iraq, they are my service animals. Yeah, I still harvest them, but there are days I need something bigger than me to get out of bed for. And 80-ish dead cluckers in my pen is enough reason to move and feed them.
To answer your first question, that is correct. To answer your second question, you would get a mutt. Not a red sexlink, the sexlinkage doesn't carry on. If you want a black sexlink, consider crossing your BCM with any barred hen. Cuckoo Marans are a popular choice when creating black sexlinks. Cuckoo is the same gene as barring.A RIR rooster and a Silver Wyandotte hen produce a Cinnamon, correct? What would a BCM rooster crossed on a red sex link hen produce?
