Has anyone used hog panels for a chicken tractor?

I did not use a wood frame bottom. Makes it heavier to move when wood gets wet and we have a bad termite problem here in this area. Termites will eat the treated wood. To build our house we used borate treated wood. Termites will not eat that but it will not stop rot. That is why we put no wood.

Back view from inside. Bar across back to stiffen coop and to add another piece of panel to close gap in top. Front and back panels wired to side panels makes it stiffer so that it can be moved when we need to. The hog panel is usually a shorter panel. We used a cow panel they are 5' x16' . We used three for the sides. Our coop measures 15'Lx7 1/2'W x6'H. All I have left to do is make a small house to go in coop so that they will not sleep against panels. Because coon and other varmits can reac through the 4" x4" openings.

Very nice! I made a bottom frame for mine becasue I intend to move it once a week or so for them to have grass.
However.... I may just borrow your idea to make a more permanant one down near the creek where it is damp.

I am going to make roosts by attaching 2 pieces of 2x2 to the side wire about 4 ft off the ground with hooks and angling it down to legs. There will be 3 or 4 cross bars for the actual roosts. This will allow me to fold it up out of the way when I move the coop. (maybe hard to visualize, I will take pics when I put it in next week) They will be up off the ground and I will make the top roost several inches away from the sides, even though that part is covered by the tarp.

I did my this way because we can move it if we want . But we have to have a very strong top because of all of the varmints. We have seen bob cats, wild dogs, coyotes, coons and different types of hawks. We are hoping that this will keep them safe. I will build a house for them to get into at night in the middle of the run. This was the cheapest and safest way we could think of to go. So far we have spent maybe $120.00. We are in the middle of a do it yourself house build so money is tight. But I could not wait any longer to get started back into chicken. I really miss them and refuse to spend another day without them. After Hurricane Rita destroyed our home and town we moved further north and bought ten acres. So we are finally starting to build and trying to put our lives back together. I still have all 8 of my kids dogs in my kennel(Had to build that first so I could start on my house. Long story:p). Most landlords will not allow large dog and all of them range from 40# to 75#. They are different bull dog breeds but all big babies. So right now they have to live with their granny
