Hello-
I am wondering I'd there are any breeders near Sacramento that breed Dorking, Basque Hens, Australorp and/or Java?
Looking at one pullet chick of each breed for 2025.
Any recommended hatcheries that carry all or have a min order of 2 chicks and carry a portion of these breeds?
On of our hens (hatched this spring, out by a broody hen), was acting very odd last week. We were worried that she may be egg bound as she wasn't moving. Unfortunately, we observed her odd behavior as we were leaving for the airport for the week.

So my java recently started laying and has gone broody. My thought is either to let her try to hatch two eggs and hope that she will stop being broody once she has them or to try and break her from it. She barely gets up out of the nest. Thanks in advance
ISO a few molted java chicks, straight-run is fine. No rush, just want to get my name on a list to get some. Love this breed and want to help preserve quality lines! I am located in Indiana so would probably be shipping unless you are in State. Thank you!

At the moment there's three...
I received an "assorted" mix from Sand Hill Preservation and while they provided a list of breeds two don't quite line up. There were two "filler" chicks so perhaps someone can help me identify. Photo uploading is being very weird with me today so apologies for that.
The list says two Barred...

Black Javas are quick to feather out. They are curious and quiet chicks who love to dig through the pine chip bedding and strew it all about. They love to try new treats like little bits of strawberry and...
