Recently became a stay at home mom and was able to do a lot of things that I previously couldn’t, such as my quail and chickens honestly. But I have however lost a lot of friends and would love and be down if anyone ever wants to chat about our flocks or life in general :)

I don’t know if it’s just the feathers growing a weird way or the start of Angel wing? It’s on both sides. They eat Kalmbach Duck and goose food at 18% protein but I mix it with raw oats to get it down to around 16.
Hi All! I'm thrilled to say I am a chicken 🐓 newbie adopting my first chicks in mid July (after our family back vacation as I hear those little ones need a lot of attention!)

So I got 7 new babies yesterday! We are really excited, the person we got them from said 2 were boys, 1 she was unsure of, and the other 4 are girls. We plan on only keeping 4 of these babies and processing the rest.
If feeding standard chick starter, around when did they reach 2-3lbs dressed...
i have 0 experience with birds but I have an egg in which I want to hatch with unknown age or species. I’m hoping some experienced people can give insight to their experience and knowledge and hopefully I will have a baby chick in no time!
I have 4 Americanas that are about 10 weeks old. They've been out side for about a week now. We waited to put them outside due to weather. During this time the chicks started hopping out of the brooder and roosting on the tools that are in the room. We put a wire lid on top of the brooder to...
Hello Friends
I am a few years into Chicken loving, and have lost a lot of chickens to dogs, cats, opossums, fox, minks, you name it... and now feel like I have a better sense of the needs of chickens and am ready to invest in heritage breed birds.
This being said...
I have no idea what toe...
Hello all,
I'll be a brand new backyard chicken "farmer" come the spring, if you can call 4 or 5 hens a farmer. After years of watching from the sidelines, I'm finally going to make the dive into it. I've built my coop and run, will be ordering my new chicks for the spring in a week or so, and...
I've been reading all I can find about DLM. Looks like I can use wood shavings, shredded paper and straw. What about grass clippings? And how much DE is best to use? My coop is 6x6 and I have 2" of wood shavings to start with.
Oh, and can someone post some pictures of what you're using for...
