Hi everyone!
Just hatched 4 baby quails for the first time. They hatched last Friday, 11/04. We did our research to have everything good and ready.
They are being kept in a 75l container next to the oven and with a thermometer. The temperature inside is around 36 to 38 °C. We are feeding them...

I just got a Borotto Lumia 8 incubator for my quail hatching eggs off of Kijiji used only once. It is in great condition and has everything with us besides the instruction manual which I really need since it will be my first time. If you have this incubator I would really appreciate if you could...
Hello, I would like to know about a coturnix quail farm in Canada that sells me fertile eggs. I am very interested in the colors of the quail. Thank you :jumpy:wee
Can anyone recommend a good grit for coturnix quail chicks? I want to start giving them treats (hard boiled eggs or fruits and veggies) but I need to buy some grit first I think. I saw probiotic chick grit for sale, but I think it’s for chickens. Would it work for quail chicks too? They are a...
i've been wanting to start up a small flock of quil again. For pets mostly but also for eggs.
three years ago i had a flock of coturnix quail and although i enjoyed them and they gave lots of eggs, they were quite problematic and not what i was looking for in quail.
does anyone know what kinds...
Hello,
I need some help with what to do with my quail. She had a head injury and had half her scalp pecked off. It was hanging on barely as a flap and I cleaned her up and gave her a bandaid hat to keep it clean and everything in place. I expected that as she healed it would re-attach (I had...
This is my first time hatching and raising quail. All of my chicks except 1, which was born blind (without eyes). I didn't want to cull it yet since I thought it would maybe be able to see or learn to adapt in the future but so far it's been 1 week in and I still hand feed the chick as it never...
Hi All,
A friend of mine and I are looking to start a quail breeding project at our college's farm (we originally planned on chickens, but as quail are ready to reproduce so much earlier we switch to Coturnix quail). We would like to be able to chart an individual's growth so we need some way...
recently I have gotten into incubating and hatching chicks, specifically quail chicks. I experienced splayed leg in multiple chicks because or many different reasons. I tried many methods such as the bandaid method with no success. I eventually found THE QUICKEST AND EASIEST WAY TO FIX SPLAYED...
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to know, should button quail that will be kept as a pair be from different clutches/batches of eggs? Can they be from the same clutch?
Thanks for all the wonderful advice,
Button Quail 123 :)
P.S
How do you do make all of the animated emojis/faces?
I don't want to over stress my quail into laying eggs, and how many eggs do they lay in the wild? I dont want to force the into laying n egg a day, which they probably dont do in the wild, but what is the lowest(in the wild) level that the modern domesticated quail lay? and how do i get them to...

Hi everyone,
My cots have yet to lay anything.
I have 10 all together in 30sq/ft aviary. They are about 9 weeks old but only 3 are females.
I plan to process 6 males next week (I was trying to wait till they were a decent size). The aggression is minimal but maybe it’s the excess boys that are...
In the near future, I am planning to raise quail outside. The climate in my area is relatively warm year round, but my question is, which is better to own, button or coturnix? Which is easier to tame? Thank you :)
