I was recently made aware of this forum and figured today was a great day to move our story here.

This is Angela. The resident Queen Bee of our flock was the first to lay, and has been an absolute unit. 66 eggs in 66 days on the same day that our flock reached egg 333. Angela, we salute you.

Wow, she's a powerhouse layer! Pretty gal! :love

White leghorn to this novice chicken farmer, I have a white leghorn named Leggy that has been a brute as well I think she’s missed one day in the last two months!!
I think Angela is actually an Austra White since she has some black streaks on her back and lays light beige eggs, but we love her just the same!

She was one of my kiddo's classroom chickens that started this whole adventure!

Thats a lot of eggs! Happy new year to you too!
Thanks! We probably got a few more chickens than we should have, but after getting scared of the idea of losing a chicken or two when we started and having our chickens be all lonely we ended up with 9 layers for a family of four. 😁 Whenever we end up with more than 8 dozen, we start collecting some to give away to friends & family.

Thats a good idea! And you can never have to many chickens lol

(Wed Feb 5th - Day 292)
We made our first sale today. 🎉

We've been gifting a dozen here and a dozen there to good friends, family, and some neighbors, but we never really intended to sell any eggs. After receiving what was truly intended to be a gift, our neighbors liked them so much they asked to setup a recurring weekly purchase of a dozen. Our jr chicken farmer has been tasked with candling the eggs to double check that there's nothing out of the ordinary, packing, and delivering them next door.
This is turning into a fun little project, but now I want to use this as an excuse to get another one of a breed we don't have.
Must resist my chicken math itch!
