Only one chick has hatched successfully out of 11 eggs. Chick is healthy. 2 days ago another chick died while hatching. Today, I found a barely developed fertile egg cracked open in the pen. What should I do if no other chicks hatch? I don’t know how I’d buy a chick at this time of year for it’s company.

it has its broody for company; solo chicks with a broody do just fine.

I assume the broody is still sitting on eggs waiting for any others to hatch; sooner or later she will leave them, because the one that has hatched will need food and water and to start learning how to be a chicken (which she will teach it). When she does, it is probably best - albeit very tough - to trust her judgement, and give up on any eggs or partially hatched chicks she has left there. Typically if you intervene, you are just delaying the inevitable.

Good luck to you, your broody, and her chick(s).
