hi y’all. I’ve read through several threads and haven’t found anything to help with my concerns. I have 3 Australorps that were a year on March 4. there is a pecking order that was established quite a while ago but never had serious issues. within the past couple of weeks, two of my girls have lost a lot of feathers around their neck- mainly the back of their necks.

3 hens. 1 looks flawles. 2 are either molting or being bullie, and 1 looks almost a little bloody and tiny bit raw. I watched them go to bed last night and there was some typical arguing over which spot they got on the perch. this has always been the case. I didn’t notice aggressive pecking or pestering, but my Sweets (the worst) was being pecked at by both of the others. I moved those two and had them sleep on an outside perch (safe and enclosed) and let Sweets stay locked inside the house.

They free range during the day aand are always friendly with one another, follow each other around and I don’t see any issues aside from the nighttime perch spot. Sweets does get pushed away when they are eating, but she eventually goes to another feeder and still gets plenty of protein and nutrition.

Also, I only see the occasional feather in the run, or outside... nothing inside their coup. No mites.

help please. should I be concerned or is this okay? The one with the larger ‘ears’ is black bird and she is the better of the two.
