10’x10’ run for cockerel, coop should be at least 3’ tall, yes?

We’re in Lexington. So far as your placard, you do your best. I am so brand new to all of this, I never heard of flock swaps. My sister (who has RA, a placard and sometimes still needs a cane after knee replacement) wants to start keeping chickens, too, so I’ll let her know. She’s on FB so probably easier to find out about these things.
Haha at bordering hot, I’m born and raised FL, look like the Michelin man in winter. I know there’s colder than here, but these winters are cold enough! 😂

I'll probably get another placard in April. After my next SX. Maybe? Depends on what happens. Currently using a cane when outside, but walking inside & practicing walking w/o a limp...

As to cold, I spent 10 yrs between Colrado Springs & Denver. Did winter visits - NE, IA & WY. Then after Korea (i DID NOT know they had snow & below freezing temps!!) & GE. Back to states, MT, for total of almost 3 yrs. My Polar King coveralls got USED A LOT MORE in NC (S of Ft Bragg) than got used in MT. There were a couple blizzards, they got used. But so much more here. Humidity makes it colder... I think or rather, fo me. 🤣

Be VERY careful about buying and selling birds at swaps, fairs, from backyard keepers, etc., especially right now with the avian flu outbreak. Be prepared to do a long and strict quarantine if you don't want to risk putting your current birds in danger.

I think that was also part of the reason I didn't get out at the Flock Swap. People rubbing elbows & tracking back & forth between so.many.birds (& goats, ducks, peafowl, puppies).

My 20 chicks ship 3/11. Then another 25 ship 3/17 or 18, the following week...

You will have to look around, try Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. You might also consider a chicken rescue, I got 3 lovely and healthy hens from a rescue this fall.

Oh! Love the chicken rescue idea, thank you! Didn’t know such things existed! My daughter wrote an entire expository essay about how I am a pet rescuer when she was in middle school. I have worked for wildlife rehabs and always kept animals at my home to find their owners when they get lost.
I looove the idea of giving a bird a second chance at a good life, thank you!

Yep I feed, bathe and water the wild birds, but with spring coming and bird flu, I’m no going to replenish my food, put up my bathes and not put up nesting boxes.
It is kinder to the birds to not have places they congregate.
