I had a panic attack 3 days ago when my incubator spiked to 102 for about 4-5 hrs. This is my 2nd hatch in new Janoel 24. First was a month ago when house was cool, & that hatch in this incubator went very well. Now its warming up & its at point where it get's a little warm in here in the afternoon, but you don't want to start using air conditioning quite yet. I never worried about heat spikes with my previous incubator, as it was both an incubator & a refrigerator, so it did what ever it needed to do to keep the temp steady. It didn't have an auto turner though, which is why I'm trying this new 1, but these afternoon spikes are scary!

I just candled last night, which was day 11 and Thankfully they are still alive & kickin' ! I put some blocks under the feet of incubator to raise it up off counter a little to let air circulate under it, and that has seemed to help some. Now I know with this Janoel 24, keeping it warm isn't a problem, but watching that it doesn't get too hot can be an issue.

Just posting this to help reassure people that a 102 spike may not be that bad, although I'm going to try to avoid them as best I can. This seems to be a fairly well made incubator all in all, and until it got warmer it worked flawlessly. So if you have 1, be aware to watch for temp spikes!
