10x8 shed at Home Depot would work for coop

I am still new at this but I cant see anything wrong with the building. You will probably need more ventilation though. It will let a lot of light in which will help in egg production.

Looks good, definetly more ventilation, and also some cover on the glass or you will roast them. It is a shed/greenhouse.

I found a local shed dealer who sold me a 10x10 with windows, and vents for $1900 delivered and levelled. I just cut a doorway with a dremel tool. Also plan to cut more windows to cover with hardware cloth and plexiglass inside to close off for winter.

The sheds are a very good idea to use for a chicken coop.

We were gonna get a shed from a local dealer.

The dealer wanted $1695 for an 8x12 shed.

We finally decided to build our own 8x12 coop, and it cost us $680 total for materials.

I've never built anything in my life so this is challenging and fun.

Thanks for the info ALienchick. I wanted to build my own coop but I wasn't sure which way would be more cost effective. Seems like do-it-yourself is cheaper.
