Started out 1 of my amerecaumas was limping and wobbling around on their hocks. One leg seemed injured. Then his hatch mate is now having the same issue and off balance and acting like their legs are lame and weak and fall over eachother. They're in an XL crate in quarantine with food water and vitamins within reach.
I was told they're vaccinated I got them from a friend who order from Murray mcmurray. They were also supposed to be pullets and one is a rooster. They're about 14 weeks old now. Just starting to notice some heavier breathing today. Still eating and drinking. The only reason I'm suspecting mycoplasma is because I've dealt with some respiratory issues within my flock since this winter. I am giving poultry cell and vitamin b2. Elecyotlyes and probitocs in their water. Can I also treat with an antibiotic in case of mycoplasma to rule it out if a dose doesn't help? If that is causing this can the damage to legs be reversed? And at what point do I say it's probably mareks and vitamins aren't working and need to make the tough call? This is very hard for me as my birds are close pets of mine so please be kind.

I'm sorry I can't help with your problem. I'm here to tell you that when I had a problem no one responded. I now Google everything I need to know in an emergency situation. I currently have a question I posted hours ago, no response yet. Good luck.

A few questions for you:

- what feed are they on
- any mold they could have been exposed to?
- how long have the symptoms been going on / at what age did you notice them?

Unfortunately if they don't respond to vitamins, it's really had to know what it is unless you do testing, or have a necropsy done. The RAL lab does testing, I recommend them.

It's so hard to lose pets or watch them struggling, hang in there.

I don't always respond to the emergency ones as I don't feel confident and experienced enough myself. It seems everyone has been busy lately, there's just a lot going on these days. I'll see if I can find your thread, if I can help I will.
