This morning I went out to feed my chickens and my 10lb rooster and average sized hen were gone. I assumed they were foraging somewhere near and then I see an explosion of white feathers but funny thing is both missing were black and I don’t own any white chickens. I walked around my yard to find them and I see rooster feathers a long trail of them. They stretch from my backyard where the rooster usually sets and sunbathes all the way to the public library across the street but I saw no brown and black feathers like my hens just the what I believe to be dove feathers, the missing roosters feathers, and oddly enough my Guinea that’s perfectly fine but she can fly so it makes sense she got away. My mom said they went nuts this morning and she heard dogs barking so she let my German shepherd out and the barking stopped and the chickens stopped. She said 30 minutes later when she left for work there were feathers all in the yard. Here’s photos of them(brown hen fredothy not the guinea) I’m uploading a video to YouTube currently that follows the trail of feathers

going with fox or dog on this one with no sign of a body. Fox usually carry back to den, hawk would pick away at them and leave it in my experience, especially a 10 lb rooster. Sorry for your loss mate

I know this must be awful to not know what happened. It is surely easier to fix problems when we understand them. I wonder, though.... The rooster and the hen went missing on the same night...hmm...Could they have eloped?

Caught the culprit in action at the same time it struck yesterday, red pit bull mix with some black on its face. I heard a chicken screaming from inside my catio right outside my bedroom window and sure enough it cornered her and was trying to get her. My 180lb German shepherd tore it a new crapper while chasing it out my yard and down another block and a half.
