I have a 3 day old silkie whose neck is severely twisted. My question is about what vitamins to give.
I am giving vitamin e capsules 400iu about 2 capsules per day. A few drops of straight poultry cell undiluted. And a liquidy mash of her food, water, and a little of the above vitamins ( poultry cell and vitamin e mixed. Should I add in a vitamin b complex?
I posted about possibly aspirating her with vitamins at 1 day old and I am being much more careful now. She recovered but her neck just seems worse.
She is doing the backwards walk, head tuck, upside down tumble. She does walk fairly upright occasionally.
I am carefully feeding her with a dropper. Unsure what’s an appropriate amount of food I’ve been doing 1 ml a few times a day and feeling her crop to see if it’s full.
Should I replace a meal with yolk/ vitamin e only?
Also is there a difference between poultry cell vs nutridrench vs any other wry neck remedy mentioned?
I have not seen her eat or drink on her own at all. I understand if she doesn’t make it but it doesn’t feel right to let her starve. She is very peppy and has a lot of will to live right now. Not sure what to do at least want to give it a try and see if it resolves at all. Photos are standing tired vs sleeping vs we upright as she’ll get.
