During my routine egg collection, I noticed my 3-month old pullet with a bloody vent AND her tail feathers plucked out. I assume the latter may be as a result pecking because of the bloody vent. Her vent is also much more open then I assumed for that of a pullet her age. She lives with 56 other chickens in a 530 sqft greenhouse. She eats a high protein feed that is made up of high protein layer feed and unmedicated chick feed. Can someone help me? She seems lethargic, but there is no discharge or tissues protruding. There is also no feces. I cannot assess her eating/drinking habits, but I’ve brought her back to our insulated, but not heated, garage and will assess her there. Btw, the skinning the underside of her vent seems thin.
