Hi, first time posting here! I had some eggs hatch in my incubator and this baby chick needed assistance as it was stuck poking out of the egg. Anyways, it's the smallest out of 9 and has been relatively normal except for constantly chirping. Not a normal peep, but loud and more like a "cry". Upon inspection I noticed a bubble right above it's right wing and when I hold him and massage the spot it relaxes and stops chirping. The bubble isn't the crop unless there's something I don't know about it. None of the other baby chicks look like this. If anybody can help please and thanks!

I'm sorry the chick is not doing well.

Is it still alive? If you can post photos so we can see the bubble, you may be able to release the air if it's a ruptured air sac.

I don't know how you can prevent a ruptured air sac in the future. It can just happen. Sometimes an air sac can rupture due to trauma.

I have heard of chicks having air in their crops, and the crop instead of being in the right upper chest can be more near the shoulder. Massage might help get the air out. I have dealt with a ruptured air aac and those may cause a lot of air gathered under the skin. An 18 gauge needle can be used to aspirate the air after disinfecting the skin.
