We picked up a shipment of chicks yesterday and noticed both golden lace wyandottes had bloody cheeks. I tried to use q-tips dipped in water, but it didn’t seem to help much. Is there a better method for removing blood on their face. I’m so nervous I’m going to hurt them, but the other chicks seem to be pecking again.

At what point do I separate them? Poor baby is even getting pecked around the rim of her eye.

Poor guys! I had to jus had to move our special needs crested pekin in our house because of really early crest attractions and plucking from her flock mates, ripping her pin feathers.
I immediately seperated my crested jumbo pekin and now she lives in a massive grate dane crate at night and is a free range house duck most her free time.
Do you think it could be possible to imprint them in your routine like dogs and just get creative with clean up? My girls already so much happier with no chewed on neck or blood on her plucked feather spots.
I read saline solution even home made to gently wash, then rinse with plane warm water, apply drying the diluted drop in warm quarter cup water with vetrx in case any infections that can lead respiratory.
