Last year we had a 50% survival rate. This year we had a broody hen with two she hatched out take on a buff orpington, 1 turkey and 4 cornish cross babies on as her own. They free range during the day and all have survived! By this time last year we had already lost two. Next year we will do the same practice as it's so much easier to have mom protect them and bring them into the flock!
