Hi all, I have been a chicken keeper for 6 weeks now. I have 23 chicks that were just treated for cocidia. The treatment ended three days ago, and everything seemed fine. This morning I went into the basement to change their food and water, and noticed one of my chicks alone on one side of the brooder laying down, completely lethargic, and feathers puffed. I set her down closer to the heat lamp where she kept lowering her head and falling over. I moved her to a separate box with her own lamp, tried to get her to drink warm water, and eat some egg yolk and Greek yogurt but she won’t budge. I just sent my husband out to grab an eye dropper so I can get some nutrients into her. What do I do!?

I would give her Corid orally and get her hydrated. If you have the liquid Corid, give her a couple of drops orally several times a day. Dip her beak in plain water often. She may have more intestinal damage than others, or she hasn’t been drinking enough. You can treat the whole flock for another 5-7 days with a quarter of the dosage. Here is a handy chart on dosage:

Thank you I will do another corid treatment.

Thank you I will do another corid treatment.
Don't forget to drench her multiple times a day for 5 to 7 days directly to ensure she gets a good dose.
After the second treatment is over, you might want to consider giving the flock some probiotics and/or fermenting their feed to help restore gut balance.
