My second flock includes 15 chicks and 3 guineas. My plan was to give them outdoor time every day over the next several days and put them back into the brooder each night and then eventually start putting them into the coop at night with the older flock until they are well integrated. I made up a temporary run for daytime/supervised time only. Did NOT realize guineas can fly so well at this age (about 6 weeks). Oops! One got loose but I got him back. Do I bother trying to put a cover over my temp run? Or just let them do what they do? I realize they are more wild and may not coop well. But I also want to be a responsible Guinea owner. Putting a cover won’t be terribly easy and I’m pretty laid back about things. But I want your thoughts! I’m a newbie!

If you’d included a poll, I would vote for “be nearby with your eyes on them at every second” because those early days enjoying the outdoors are so valuable!
