Hi! I have a mixed flock 7 2 year-old hens, ( BO's, EE's, RIR,BS) who free-range all day and are fed an organic layer's mash with cracked corn and wheat. They have free choice oyster shells too and recently went through a molt in early spring. But for some reason, we are getting barely any eggs, just 4-5 a day. Being summer, they should be laying full production, but no. We don't worm our birds, but they get natural de wormers like pumpkin seeds and garlic, and are all health. I don't believe it is stress, although they were harassed by our friends dog and scared to death. But they were laying poor before that. As of a few days ago they are getting less feed while there is so much food outside, grass, bugs etc, but could that be the problem? One of the hens, a EE is terribly bullied and all the others chase her around and plucked out her fluffy neck, but she is the only one who has cause to be stressed. What is going on here?
