I have heard 2 of them do the female “BUCKWHEAT BUCKWHEAT BUCKWHEAT” call but until recently I’ve been struggling to tell my two lavenders apart but how I know because one has a more tan helmet while the others is small and black. Their names are Smoky and Ash for the lavenders and Tar-Tar for the pearl, Tar-Tar is 100% a female yet has the biggest wattles. Smoky is the one I suspect male because it’s helmet is bigger than Ash’s helmet.

Yes they are and I’d love more that’s why I’m really wanting to know if I have a male, do you know anyone that has them that you could @
Sorry, you cannot sex guineas from photos. You can sex the females by the "buckwheat" sound.

In breeding season you can sex males by their behavior. Males will not look directly at you, females will.

A male will lie in one place on the ground as his hen forages in circles around him.

A male will stand erect on guard by the nest as a hen lays her egg.

When hens are in their laying cycle, they will have a raised "bustle", males will not.
