I've had these girls for two weeks now. Most are really growing and one or two have doubled in size, except for the little red girl with the yellow head. She was in a run full of mixed breed chickens and was exactly the same size as the black chick right beside her (below/left) which I picked from the brooder.

Either a bantam mix or she is younger than the others.

It's hard to tell whether that's down on the head or feathers. If it's down, the other chicks look like they already have a good head of feathers, so I would guess it's younger. If not, then bantam. But you didn't accidentally grab a bantam, the bantam would have been accidentally placed with the others!

I grabbed another pic. Sorry for the bad quality; it's just so hot and I didn't want to stress them too much. I'll try again when it cools down.

They all have down on their heads, to an extent, except for my very biggest cream/buff hen. It's harder to see on the black ones. The chick in question actually has black feathers coming in on the base of her neck. The black one with the striped face is the one I picked from the brooder; Blondie was in the run with the bigger chickens.

Ok, today was MUCH cooler so I played with the chickens quite a bit and still remembered to get better pics! :D I noticed this morning that Blondie has gotten some bald spots around her eyes, so maybe she'll finish feathering on her head soon?

The last one is from the day we brought them home two weeks ago. Blondie and Herkey were so small they could fit through the wires on the dog kennel and we had to borrow a cage from the feed store.
