Hi, my chicken just recovered from sour crop with a week dose of antibitoics from the vet, my partner and I were giving our hen a bit of apple cider vinegar in a syringe to help with her gut bacteria, which we've done many times and never had any issues, this time though we only had a syringe that was a bit bodgy and a little difficult to push without putting pressure on the syringe.
I'm sorry if maybe I'm just way worried over nothing, I'm not really an expert in chickens health and I deeply care for this chicken and just want to make sure. But I read somewhere on the net that if you get fluid in their lungs they will get sick??
In the syringe was just 0.1ml of liquid left, not all of it went in, so it was definitely less than 0.1ml that went into her lungs. Afterwards she sneezed and coughed and you could hear when she talked that there was something in her lungs, I kept checking on her and the sound gradually disappeared. The next morning she's still okay, still her chatty self and eating and drinking normally. She's coughed once today and sneezed twice, No signs of difficulty breathing, though when you pick her up you can hear a little wheeze in her breathing- only when she's picked up.
Do you think she'll be okay? Sorry if maybe I'm just worried for no reason, I just thought I'd ask here first before going to a vet because she's not showing any very concerning signs she needs a vet.
