My little black silkie hen has splay leg. IDK how she got it, since I got her as an adult, but she seems to have trouble walking. Can splay leg be treated when they're adults? Would binding the legs together help?

She can walk on her own, but she seems to have a lot of trouble. For the most part, she seems to be happy to wander around the house in her unique little way, but I would like to do something to help her. Can this sort of thing be corrected when they're adults?

Chickens don’t usually get splay leg on one leg or after they are grown, if she was walking normally before. But they can bet a tendon injury, or be born with a leg bone deformity in one or both legs that may become more noticeable or cause lameness. The common ones are varus, valgus, or a rotated tibia. Can you get any pictures of her standing with help that show her legs from the front and back? Most leg bone deformities are not able to be corrected. You also have to be careful with taping or using vet wrap to splint or hobble since the tape can slip and cut off circulation which can lead to a loss of the limb. The article below has some great pictures of varus and valgus deformity in one or both legs:

Hopefully, these are good enough. Its kinda hard to make out anything bc she's black and fluffy.
