So I know and understand the reasoning behind drakes biting hands, toes, etc., but what can I do to minimize or stop biting from my drake?

I have drakes ++. At this time of year they are bitey. Daffy, a huge muscovy drake, bites my shins and calves. It's very painful. I now carry a bamboo cane during Spring hormone surge time. I wiggle it back and forth in front of his face and that helps to keep him off.. But as soon as I let down my guard when doing something else he sneaks past and bites me. He has had a hefty whack on his side when he hurt me, but nothing stops him until late summer

A nice toss in the pool calmed my drake down for a while he would bathe come out and preen forget about me until he saw me again then we started over. I also used a broom to sweep him away when he wouldn’t stop.
