Aggressive Quail

One of my close friends has a very aggressive quail hen. It acts like a rooster chicken, defending it's flock, but is definitely a hen. It never attacks other quail, only humans. If you walk up to my friends cage, it will try to peck you through the bars. The male quail doesn't have a problem with the behaviour.
I was wondering if it might be bored, but it lives with two other females a d one male.

Does anyone have an explanation?
P.S. they're Japanese quail

Some are just more aggressive than others. Some things that might help are plenty of space and plenty of hiding places.

I did get that. That doesn't mean that her base personality and insecurity from insufficient space or hiding places aren't factors, though.

That’s interesting. I have heard of people putting an aggressive chick in time out and after it was separated it wasn’t being aggressive anymore. I wonder if that. Would work with an adult.
