I have a one year old Ameraucana with crossbeak that I’ve had about a month now. She started laying after her move here about two weeks ago. The first week despite having oyster available at all times, she was laying eggs like water balloons. She’d lay her good eggs in the nesting boxes and the misfires elsewhere.
Anyway- this weeks eggs are hard but the albumen (the whites) are SO thick they sometimes don’t even come out of the shell! I tried reading and it said it was a good quality and meant they were fresh but this egg is 5 days old (stored on the counter). Is this REALLY ok? Good to eat? It’s literally like jelly and I’m just not sure about this
