Alpha hen?

Thats normal.. Don't worry, they're establishing the "pecking order" Thats all.

I've had similar situations when they were only a week old, but it had two "alphas" they turned out to be quite shy... but of course still alpha..

She's nice but first to go for the grub treats and is the one who escaped over the weekend (if you read the post about my dog and the chick).

My SS is "mothering" my 2 EEs - they snuggle under her and she steps in between them and the others if a tift arises.

It's neat to watch their personalities come through.

My alpha hen is an Australorp! She's pretty laid back for the most part. I did however see one of the lower males try to breed her... What a mistake! She chased him down an flogged the crap outta him! He's a pest anyway, so it was very entertaining to watch!
