Ancona Chickens

Thanks for responding. I was curious about a couple of characteristics. Will they roost and lay in a coop if I free range them? And are the roosters aggressive? Also how many eggs and size? Thanks again

You're welcome. They will roost and lay in the coop as long as you keep them in the coop long enough before letting them out that the coop is imprinted on them as home. I had some free range Anconas (along with a number of other breeds) on a 10 acre farm that my wife and I owned in NE Texas years ago, and they returned to coop every evening and laid in the nest boxes. They are an excellent free range chicken.
I had one aggressive Ancona rooster, but I didn't find them to be particularly aggressive in general although they are very high strung and flighty and don't like being handled.
Anconas are excellent layers of large, white eggs. Our Anconas typically laid about 5 eggs per week.
Hope this helps.
