This one is not crowing, but that's a pretty prominent comb for 12 weeks, isn't it? (I haven't had a Speckled Sussex before, so I'll defer to the experts, but I know what the answer probably is. :(

I don't think that is a Speckled Sussex. Maybe a Silver Sussex? But even then the legs are too dark, usually they have white legs. Yours is very yellow.

I think you've got a Silver Leghorn or Silver Laced Wyandotte.

@BigBlueHen53 Tagging someone more experienced than I am, but it depends on when the breed typically comes to point of lay . . . I've heard hens of some breeds get combs and wattles nearing when they would lay eggs, but I'm no expert.
Appreciate the tag, Red, but I am not familiar with SS roos ... or cockerels. If it is a SS, it's not a female, as far as I can tell. Doesn't look like mine anyway!

Sorry all, I just realized I added the wrong pic… the one above is indeed a silver-laced wyandotte… here’s the speckled sussex (not crowing, but seems like a prominent comb for a hen… but I’m not experienced w SS, so would love input from the experts!
