Its been particularly cold recently, with the lows dropping to 4 degrees (F). I’ve noticed my older emu who’s about 1.5 years old has been acting like he’s cold a lot, he shivers even when he’s lying down and when he walks in the snow I can tell it bothers his feet, what’s the chance of frostbite? I now keep them inside most of the day.
Strangely enough my other emu who’s 10 months isn’t displaying the same symptoms.
Their nighttime shelter is wind-proof with lots of dry shavings and straw.
Is this enough?
