Any ideas on what could be going on?

Hey everybody!
Thanks in advance for any answers/advice.

I have a five month old drake who’s hatched out of my own mixed flock. Paternity wise he’s Cayuga but Maternally, he could either be F&W Runner or Silver Appleyard.
He does have angel wing which attempts in correction did not help - but recently he started not walking the best.

He crouches very low to the ground when he walks and this morning for a short period he would take a few steps and either stumble or lay down, I couldn’t quite tell which it was.

Is this something to deal with nutrition, possible genetic issues, or…???

He’s still eating, Kalmbach as far as brand of feed, and drinking normally - but this “stance” is new to me in my babes.

it could very well be a niacin deficiency.. he's bigger than the rest of the flock and might need more of it

He’s bigger than the same ducks his age (all blue runners) but the older ducks his size have had zero difficulties… but I can agree that extra niacin never hurts.

Agreed, sounds like a niacin issue. Some just need more than others.

Get Durvet Liquid B Complex 1 ml over a tasty treat just for him. If it is a niacin deficiency the B Complex works better and faster than just niacin alone. TSC usually carries it It will say injectable but we use it orally over something like dried mealworms, watermelon etc.
