Hi all, I'm James. Awesome info on this place so I thought I'd join in the fun.

I'm a new hen owner. We rescued 10 RIR ex battery hens and have recently added 4 bramha pullets to the flock. (They are separated at the moment)

I also have an incubator and hatched 3 chicks a few weeks ago.

Lots going on at the moment.

Not Irish, but wanted to welcome you to the forums.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Congrats on your battery hen rehoming!! And best of luck with your hatch!

Welcome to BYC, James. Glad you decided to join our flock. I don't live in Ireland (although my wife and I visited there for our 37th wedding anniversary), but all of my ancestors on both my parent's side were Irish. The first breed I had were Light Brahmas (about 50 years ago) and they were gentle giants. Congratulations on a successful hatch. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Nope, I'm not Irish. But, I'm sure that at least a few people on her are!
