anybody ever raised a largemouth bass in an aquarium *UPDATE*

*updatei caught one this evening. about 6 inches long... tell me anything and everything about them please... i would love to keep him for a long long long time.. get him big up to maybe 24 inches or bigger.. ill need to get a bigger tank but what do i have to do to keep him for a long time????

We have had one for about a year. Its in a 55 gallon tank with a heater. Don't really know what temp its set on. We feed him frozen blood worms, any bugs the boy catches, and minnows. When he was small we bought rosies from the pet store. We also have a channel cat, blue gill ans a longear sunfish.

We caught him at the local spillway. He was about 3 inches and now about seven inches. Working on pics now.

I had a couple of inch long ones....But the bullhead cat got them lol >.> I kept one for awhile and let him go in the fall. I had that bass trained LOL

We put in alot of plants to give everyone a place to hide. The bass takes the middle and the catfish like to be under the rock. The bluegill and sunfish like to hide in the plants. Everyone is happy .

my cousin had a bass and 2 perch in an aquarium when I was akid. we used to feed them minows brine shrimp and an occasional tree frog(small ones) . it was funny watching them swim with frog legs hanging out of their mouths

My brother had one in a 55 gal. tank it got to be about 10-12 inches. He finally let it go. He had to catch minnows (and I mean alot) everyday to keep him fed. He didn't have the time to keep catching food for him and let him go in a lake. He also had a mud fish and a gar that got preety big and he let them go also. They are beautiful fish when you can see them in a fish tank. You would have to have a very big tank or an outside pond to keep him in to get him to 24 inches. They grow as fast as you feed them.
