I was wondering if anyone here has ever given their goats a bath. My two older ones are just really really dusty and dry. My new lil guy just smells really bad. I was wondering if you have what did you use for shampoo/soap? I use baby shampoo for the dogs. Would that work?

Good luck!

Hi! I used to bathe Cupid and Archer (my bottle bucks a few years ago) all the time. I'd just cross-tie them and scrub them down with Dawn. They would get sooo stinky, I couldn't stand to be around them.
They didn't seem to mind it too much, hahaha!

I usually just brush mine out. There is no way mine would ever let me give them a bath! Buck smells are hard to get rid of, so I'm not sure that baby shampoo would work. I have to use soap and toothpaste just to get the smell off my hands.

I rescued a goat from the livestock auction on Tuesday and he was covered in diarrhea and fleas so I gave him a bath with dog flea shampoo and he took the bath just fine. Smells better now too!

ok...well maybe I will just use the oatmeal flea shampoo I have? They dont have fleas that I can tell but it couldnt hurt could it? or dawn? or baby shampoo. I don't think the restraining them will be too hard. Bottle wether, smaller doe, and really really small buckling. lol

You can use horse or dog shampoo and if they have long hair - conditioner. Some of our goats didn't mind having a bath now and then and some goats really hated it. Good Luck and have fun with your goats - they are wonderful little creatures.
