I think your funds would be wiser spent obtaining young 4-6 week old squeakers and nearly all pigeon fanciers would agree with me.
I wish nothing but the best of luck in your venture.
Hope you have done your research on raising young pigeons.
It is a daunting task NOT recommended tor a novice.
Most experts would not even undertake it myself included.

JUST A HEADS UP;
Pigeons are NOTHING like ducklings or day old chicks.

I do understand that. I've hatched parrots a crow, sparrows, blackbirds mockingbird and every kind of chicken and pheasant and other pea fowl. I've never hatched a pigeon or dove. They all lived too. I've been doing this for a long time. I have the big cabinet incubators that do most of the work. I have a question. If I can't get eggs are there any young ones for sale?
Thanks

Some im seeing do love challenge of hatching n raising squeakers, but more over prob that many breeds have fragile eggs compared to most birds, n cannot take travel well at all. now getting a pair raising or breeding older pair, ive seen many enjoy raising young from. Ive heard of coffee cans stuffed with paper towels to cushion many eggs sent, then getting two or three at best eggs thatll hatch. a gambling task that am curious about, but not enough drive n time to do now. iused ringneck doves as fosters to raise many types of birds from eggs. theyre stoopid birds thatll try to hatch n raise ANYTHING. many hatch n raise quail under n i have too. lol

I agree I think it would be fun to try but finding an older pair might be more feasible for me. Once I get an older pair to start laying I'm going to rob their nest to try out the incubator. Lol. I appreciate your input

Your odds are better where you hatched parrots Bret but still NOT GOOD in my opinion.. The problem is pigeons do not tend to thrive without those first few days of pigeon milk they receive from their parents.

If you can come close to duplicating those first days your odds improve greatly. Good luck if you get a 50% success rate you will be in my estimation well above average. I agree with Laughing Dog your best plan is good foster parents.

Don't try to hatch and hand rear pigeons.

They will die 90 percent sure... (if they survive they will be small, weak and prone to diseases).

They are not the same as parrots, finches or other birds to hand rear.

They need the 'CROP MILK' from their pigeon parents to thrive.... there is no man made substitute that can replace it.

Please save yourself heartache and being cruel to the birds and don't do this.

Just buy a young pair..... They will get very tame and make great pets.

PLEASSE BELIVE ME... I know what I am talking about....

I have hand raised many bird species.. and used to hand raise parrots and parakeets as a hobby. I also breed fancy pigeons.. and know they will not survive the hand rearing from day one.

However.. pigeons are the easiest bird to had rear once they are over a week old... after this age the don't need the crop milk.

Hookbills/parrots produce crop milk also..
Parrots become weak from lack of crop milk, but most dont notice and enjoy because parrots are a lot needier and mature very slowly. katee exact and few others, are best having probiotics etc.
