Anyone recommend Quickbayt Fly bait for fly control? I have Hanging fly traps that are working, but still have a lot of flys. I clean the run weekly. It’s a lot worse when it rains.

I have not personally. Although the flies are bad this year. I put up a fly strip on the porch but haven’t done so out around the chicken run.

You already have the hanging bags with water and phermone, right? Those things usually do the trick. I would use deep liter, wood shavings are best, sand will work somewhat, if you rake it once a day to cover the fresh droppings.

Thanks, I have the hanging traps where you add bait to the bottom dish. I just bought some vanilla car fresheners to try as well. I heard those help as well. Just hate all the flies. We do use pine shaving and I usually rake it out once a week and add more too keep the smell down. Maybe I need to do this more. It’s a lot worse with rain and it’s been raining for a couple of weeks straight here on the Texas coast. Thanks for the replies.

Bait traps need to be away from the coop, because they are fly attractants, Too close to coops or areas where you want to be, not a good idea. I'd have them downwind too.
Permethrin spray is safe for the chickens and the coop, so consider using that in the coop.
Any product not safe for the chickens, or approved for them, isn't so good, if the birds will then eat dead or dying flies.
In the future, the Spalding's fly predators work well, look them up.
Flies are a pain! It's been hot and damp, fly heaven.
