As title states..anyone add anything to their brooder to control odor ?
Our brooder is in the house so have to care a little more than if it was in garage or coop...itgets cleaned once a day ...emptied, hosed out, wiped dry, new bedding..plastic tote makes this a simple 5min daily project that I’m not complaining about just figured if this stuff was all natural and helps keep the smell down it can’t hurt....plus it’s was on sale at TSC today..

Hi there. :frow

Many of us use a product called Sweet PDZ. Zeolite I believe is the ingredient.

I don't think I would use it if I were changing bedding daily though.

Some bedding are better than others at keeping smell down. For example rice hulls quickly cover and dry out droppings... making it one of my favorites for large broods. Where as hay tends to let dropping sit on top and get smashed but not really dry out. Shavings are somewhere in the middle of those two. I also like to use wood pellets for very young chicks.

Raising feed and water on a brick or level with their backs helps to keep debris out of them.

Bio based organic carbon... I would love to see a picture of the actual product. Thanks for sharing! :pop
