API General Cure

Hi guys i would like to know if anyone has used API General Cure. I have a sick chicken with a canker and would like to treat it with the general cure powder. Has anyone used it on there hens and is it safe to eat the eggs or meat ever again since it says not to use in meat that you are going to eat. Just would like to hear what other people have to say I am really paranoid about these things.

The metronidazole is banned for use in food animals, but the praziquantel is not. I have blackhead here, so have treated many birds with metronidazole. Probably best to wait 14-28 days after treatment before eating the eggs.

Dose is about 1/2 pack per five pound chicken per day orally (not in drinking water) for five days.

HI Kathy. Canker. I have a 6 year old hen with yellowish sores in her mouth and it feels like there is a marble in her throat. :-(

You can try it. How much does she weigh?

At five pounds she should get about 1/2 a pack once a day. If you think it's canker, probably a good idea to get some fish-zole in case you have to give it for more that five days. API General Cure also has praziquantel, so not sure I'd want to give it for more than five days.
